Reaction Paper: MontesquieuSummary:Montesquieu believed in separation of church and state and three separate branchesof government. Governments have political last and natural law. Nations must work together intimes of peace as much as possible and harm as lest as is necessary to gain their own interestsduring times of war. Laws of nations are laws between two nations and their discourse. No statecan for without a government in place. When a body of people come together as a supremepower they become a democracy. When the supreme power is put in the hands of the few it iscalled an aristocracy. Laws that establish the right to suffrage, are fundamental to a democraticgovernment. He believed that the whole society should vote and not a part. Leaders must do whatthey can and only what they can, the rest should be left to their ministers. The people should beallowed to elect their ministers. All people are capable of calling someone to power, but not all
