Hydrogen
The element hydrogen was discovered in the year of 1766 by the chemist Henry Cavendish in London, England. While in 1671,Robert Boyle put the information out before him in a paper about his experiments of seeing “the reaction between iron filings and dilute acids which results in the evolution of gaseous hydrogen ”. It was really henry who made it known as an element later on. On 1766 he compiled some over mercury and described it as "inflammable air from metals”. He precisely got the properties of the element right but he thought that the gas was from the metal instead of acid. The name of the element hydrogen was given by Lavoisier. The atomic information of the element is: Atomic Number: 1 Atomic Weight: 1.00794 Melting Point: 13.81 K (-259.34°C or -434.81°F) Boiling Point: 20.28 K (-252.87°C or -423.17°F) Density: 0.00008988 grams per cubic centimeter Phase at Room Temperature: Gas Element Classification: Non-metal Period Number: 1 Group Number: 1 Group Name: none The uses of hydrogen is can used to create water. The gaseous state of hydrogen can used as metallic ore for reduction. Hydrogen can be used by itself or with other
