(b) For a person who lives 1000 meters from the speakers, f (1000) represents approximately how much the decibels will decrease if they were to move 1 meter further away. (c) d such that f ( d ) = 100 is the distance at which the decibel level is 100. (d) For someone living 100 meters away, the approximate decrease in decibels by moving 1 meter away is larger than that for someone living 1000 meters away.
