(25 points) A circus acrobat has a weight of 180 pounds, and is strapped to an inverted swing (a seat on a massless, rigid, 10 foot long pole that rotates freely, in a vertical plane, about point O) as shown in the figure below. Because he is strapped to the seat, he cannot fly out of the seat. When θ = 0, the man’s speed is 15 feet per second toward the left. Determine the force in the pole when he reaches θ = 80 degrees. Be sure to state whether the pole is in tension or compression. Note: you must use either work-energy or impulse momentum in this problem. You may not use a ds = v dv!
