Unformatted text preview: Spring 2007 M 408L Integral Calculus Exam #3 Review prepared by Chris Mirabito in Fall 2006 Exam #3 will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm in RLM 4.102. The test will be 2 hours long and worth 20% of your final course grade. Please bring your UT ID cards to the test. We will be checking them, and your cooperation with the University policy on cheating is expected. Also, remember to bring a #2 pencil and eraser to the test, as none will be provided. All other testing materials, including scrap paper, will be provided. You will not be allowed to use a calculator (or any other electronic devices), books, or notes in any form during the test. Come at least 10 minutes early so you have enough time to find your assigned version number and seat! Exam #3 covers all of chapter 12 on Infinite Sequences and Series in the course textbook (except 12.11) - that is 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 12.6, 12.7, 12.8, 12.9, 12.10, and 12.12. It will contain up to 20 multiple-choice questions similar to ones you have found on homeworks #10 through #14. Be aware, though, of the fact that material needed for Exam #1 or #2 could very well be used again on this test...that includes exponentials, limits, integration by parts etc. And remember: Unlike on the homework problems, you will NOT lose points for guessing. Students with legitimate, documented learning disabilities or special needs should consult the “First Day Handout” located at http://www.ma.utexas.edu/dev/math/Courses/M408L/handout.html for information regarding testing dates, times, and locations (which will be different from that of the regular time). Students who cannot take the test at the regularly scheduled time due to conflicts with other classes, exams, or docu- mented illnesses should also consult this page for make-up test information. In all cases, make sure your instructor knows about your situation well in advance. We will have our review session on Friday, April 27th, 2007 from 3:00pm until 5:30pm in RLM 5.116. I highly recommend you taking advantage of the opportunity to take an active part in this and it will also help answer any last-minute questions you may have. This review sheet is intended to help you prepare for the test. It states in a nutshell pretty much everything that we have covered in the course since Exam #2, but this list is not exhaustive . Please be sure you are familiar with all concepts listed here and don’t forget that some problems inevitably require your knowledge of material covered on and before Exams #1 and #2. If you are having trouble, please come to office hours. Do not wait until the last minute to ask for help! There are some practice problems attached for you. The format is similar to the actual test. So in order to prepare for the exam situation, you should allow yourself a two hour time slot without interruptions and sit down in a quiet area without books, notes, calculators to work through these problems....
