Dennen 7 Rachel Dennen Professor Pavell Personal Health and Wellness 5 February 2016 Homework #4 The article Stressed or Depressed; Know the Difference talks about stress and depression. Many college students nowadays are often affected by stress. Stress has been known to be beneficial to you but if it is too much stress than it can be very bad for your physical, mental and emotional health. Depression on the other hand is serious and long lasting issue. In a 2010 survey done by the American College Health Association reported that 28% of college students said they felt so depressed that they had trouble functioning and 8% even sought treatment for depression. Even though depression is very a serious illness it is highly treatable. Stress and depression can affect you in similar ways but depression symptoms are much more intense. When suffering from depression the symptoms can last at least two weeks. There are many signs of both stress and depression. The most common signs of stress are: trouble sleeping, feeling overwhelmed, and problems with memory. The most
