Rachel Dennen Profesora Perillán Español 3040 9 febrero 2016 Un Héroe para los trabajadores En 1988 Chávez lleva a cabo una de 36 días "Fast for Life" para llamar la atención sobre los riesgos para la salud los trabajadores agrícolas y sus hijos se enfrentan por la exposición a los pesticidas. Chávez continuó a luchar por los derechos de los trabajadores hasta el día de su muerte, el 22 de abril de 1993. Había tenido nada más que un par de vasos de agua en los seis días antes de su muerte. Lo eligieron al salón de la fama del Departamento de Trabajo en 1999 por su trabajo para mejorar el tratamiento de los trabajadores agrícolas. Fuentes: Ferriss, Susan, et. al.
