Unexcused absences will negatively impact your grade, and Xi’an Jiaotong University policy states that students with three or more unexcused absences will be referred to the Dean’s office and face automatic failure of this course. Lectures: During each class, there will be a “traditional” lecturefollowed by work in small groups to discuss a set of in-class questions (termed a Lecture Activity). Students will record and submit their own answers to the in-class questions prior to leaving class. Each student should bring a calculator and the textbook to every class. You should make it a firm rule to attend every lecture regardless of their perceived entertainment value.
