03/21/08 Behavioral Techniques Classical Conditioning o Counter Conditioning Aversion Therapy- doing something wrong and realizing you don’t  like it anyways because it feels bad; example: smoking while young  causes you to not want to smoke anymore  Systematic Desensitization- helps you deal with phobias. . example-  fear of dog; slow steady progression; taught to relax while looking  at pictures, then when increasing volume, then when a dog is in the  room, then when the dog gets closer, then while touching the dog,  and then while dog is licking  o Flooding- confronting fear; extinguishes fear; example: fear of shots story,  locking someone in a room with a dog to get over it o Implosion Therapy Operant Conditioning o Token Economies- if you do the sought out behavior, you get a reward;  change behavior to get what you want  Observational Learning
