Chapter 10 Angie Questions Angie’s Question Please refer to page 332. Is it possible to calculate the NPV ($34.71) on a financial calculator, or do we have to do it by hand? I tried adding the two cash flows together for Cash Flow 2, but it came out with the wrong answer on the calculator. My Response First, in case you weren’t aware of it, please note that I have uploaded a calculator guide for most calculators on the Angel website. I would strongly urge you to fist go through the entire calculator guide for your brand of calculator before using it to solve problems. If you have a BAII+, you may solve this problem using the following keystrokes: (2 nd ) (Quit)(2 nd )(CLR TVM) This clears all previous entries from the calculator’s memory (CF)(CLR WORK) Clears the calculator’s worksheet (4800)(+/-)(ENTER) Enters -4800 for the CF at time zero (↓)(2000)(ENTER) Enters 2000 for the CF at time one (↓)(↓)(3650)(ENTER) Enters the total cash flows at time two (NPV)(10)(ENTER) (↓)(CPT)
