Some need that was not meet as a child Focuses on males- more likely to be aggressive behavior, have a masculine fascad Starts during adolescents, but may be noticeable during their pre-teens Pre-alcoholic individuals want maternal care yet they want to be independent Conflict between the desire for material care and independency Drinking is motivated by the dependency needs, provides feelings of warmth and comfort Blaine Openly dependent- have strong dependency needs and they seek direct gratification. They have a passive mastery of life (expect others to meet their needs and they manipulate them into doing so) This person might stay home and live off their parents as long as they are allowed to.
