Nguyen 1 Tan Huy Hoang Nguyen Professor Hines GenEd 110 23 January 2008 Culture Culture is an extremely broad term that is used in nearly all aspects of life. From societal to philosophical, from microscopic to macroscopic, the various meaning of culture goes far beyond our reach. However, at a personal level, I would coin culture as the means to accept and better ourselves as a human race. So in other words, it is to be open minded. The world and particularly western civilizations are becoming much more diverse than ever before. From different backgrounds, ethnicities, and traditions there’s a whole new blend of viewpoints that each and every person can partake upon. It is up to us, the people, to notice these changes in order to reach a common understanding and accept our own differences. To look pass what separates us and to move forward for the better. When we unite to accomplish a single goal, we can go far beyond expectations. Hence, not only is it necessary, but crucial for us to approach the world with an open
