Sol Garcia March 14, 2016 Graded Assignment Mr. Sacco The Columbian Exchange The Columbian exchange brought revolutionary change to the modern world by bacterial, animal, and plant exchange between the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. This period of cultural biological exchanges between the new (America) and old worlds (Europe). With this exchange going on there was lots of benefits and disadvantage among the different continents. When Christopher Columbus, Hernan Cortes, and Alfred Crosby first got to the new world they described how they seen it. In document 1, he explains how beautiful and resourceful the new world is. Also of how admirable the fruits, herbs, flowers, trees, huge lakes and rivers. Another thing he said was “roads were broad and good”. This means that the roads were wide and great. In document 2, Cortes describe food eaten by Yucatan inhabitants. Some food that the Yucatan ate was maize, chili pepper, potato yucca, and chicken. In document 3, Crosby distribution of plants exchange weeds are used to exhausted the land and destroy native crops.
