2.10 – Changes to the Script • What do you think is one of the most important amendments to the Constitution, not including the Bill of Rights? Amendment XXI!!! Just kidding. Amendment XXVI is one of the most important Amendments, because people 18 years of age can already be directly affected by presidential decisions; an 18-year-old can be drafted, so why shouldn't he or she be allowed to vote? Intellectual maturity is also well reached at, if not before, this age (in most cases). • If you could write an amendment to the Constitution what would it say specifically? If I could write an Amendment, it would place environmental protection as one of the mandatory duties of government, on par with national security, economic policy, etc. In an age where global warming could potentially lead to human extinction, it seems not only wise, but also vital, to take a drastic measure such as this: the only measure, perhaps, which could ensure the inhabitability of our planet for posterity (or for ourselves if things
