Tracing and Examining Hair Evidence Objective: After completing the lab we are able to describe the external structure of hair and also distinguish different hair samples based on color, medulla type, cuticle types, thickness, and length. In addition be able to compare suspect’s hair with the hair found at the crime scene. Then be able to form a hypothesis as to which suspect could have been present at a crime scene. And finally we will be able to testify whether or not the suspect’s hair sample matches the hair sample left at a crime scene. Data: Cuticle Impression Data table 1 Data table 2

Final Analysis: 1) Is it possible to match any of the suspect’s hair with the evidence hair that was found on the victim? No, it is not possible to match any of the suspects’ hair with the evidence hair that was found on the victim. Why? Because the hair samples that belonged to the possible suspects’ were tested and examined, and not even one sample matched with the hair that was found on the victim. Hence it’s invalid to match
