Color Plate 4 A very interesting and complicated picture, color plate 4 is a great example of collaboration. The scenery is top notch and extremely detailed, it allows many characters to be on stage, but in entirely different locations, and allows for more action on stage. The costumes look updated, the play was written in the seventeenth century, but all the characters look oddly mid twentieth century. The men look like one would expect, with dress pants and shirts, and the women are as most if not all women dressed in the era, in dresses. One can almost feel the sound coming off the stage. Its set seemingly opens up to the audience, and one can imagine that even if a character were in the back, it would be easy to hear him. The lighting is centralized, illuminating only the action and characters, and dimming out towards the edges. This creates a specific point the audience can focus on, and an eerie feel to the stage as it gets darker in the uninhabited parts. All four of these efforts combine to make one awe inspiring stage. The Picture looks like maybe early to mid 1900s, and set in Europe. This is easily
