Thurs. 8am Analyzing Girl, Interrupted Girl, Interrupted The movie I chose to watch was Girl, Interrupted (1999) starring Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie . The movie is about a young girl, Susanna (played by Ryder), with borderline personality disorder who is sent to a mental hospital after attempted suicide. The story is set in the 1960s in an all female mental hospital. Susanna meets many other girls in her stay there and becomes increasingly close to Lisa (played by Jolie), a patient of the hospital for eight years. Lisa comes and goes and everyone knows her and most are seemingly afraid of her. Yet, Susanna becomes good friends with Lisa and many of the other girls while trying to deal with her borderline personality disorder. In the movie Susannas symptoms are shown as delusions and having a hard time focusing because of them. Certain things occurring in real time link her mind back to past events focusing because of them....
