Schematic A: The circuit shown in Schematic A was constructed using a load resistance of 1000 Ω with V CC set at 10V. The input signal needed to produce a voltage of at least 2.0 V PP to generate the desired output waveform and transfer characteristics obtained from the oscilloscope. Capacitors were added between the V CC voltage source and ground to buffer out any noise in the circuit. Schematic B: The level shifting circuit shown in Schematic B was constructed by placing a diode between the bases of the two transistor of Schematic A, a current source was also add to the circuit. Capacitors were again placed between V CC and ground to reduce noise. Input/output waveforms and transfer characteristics were also taken for this circuit. Schematic C:

The level shifter in Schematic C uses two diodes to shift the voltage, while the two emitter resistors and clamping transistors (Q5 and Q6) reduce the current. This circuit required a smaller input signal than the other two circuits to function properly as shown
