Schematic A Schematic B Procedure XA1 and XA2: Schematic A (I c = 0.1mA): Source 1 – Input; Source 2 – v ce The above oscilloscope capture shows the voltage gain from the input voltage to the output voltage. In the first part of this experiment, the input was 120mV pp and the output was 4.5 V pp . To find the maximum gain of these circuits, we increased the input voltage until the output voltage started to distort. The distortion looked like curvature at the peaks of the output voltage waveform. This is because when the ac-voltage source goes low, it draws current from the base of the BJT and sends it into saturation. The gain seen here is 37.5

As can be seen in source 1, the waveform is very thick because of how we were measuring the voltages. The input voltage is very small and could have slight variability from various component and equipment noise. This could have been avoided if we used the “averaging” mode of the oscilloscope, but
