Technical Terms and Definitions: BIGA A chariot drawn by two animals, usually horses CISTOPHORIC IETRADRACHM A coin of Asia Minor (four drachmas), with snakes emerging from a sacred box as the reverse type COIN TYPE The principal design used in Greek 01 Roman coins by a particular city or monarch CORNUCOPIA "Horn of Plenty," usually full of Nature's bounty in the form offruits and flowers CROESEID A coin of king Croesus, normally the head and shoulders of a bull and a lion confronting each other DARIC A Persian gold coin named for king Darius I DIADEM A band worn around the head and tied at the back to indicate sovereignty DIE The pattern cut into a piece of bronze that produced the relief design of a coin DIE AXIS The relationship ofthe position of the reverse type to that of the obverse, when both ale viewed by rotation around a common vertical axis DIE LINKAGE A situation where two different reverse dies share a single obverse, because the upper die weals out faster than the lower
