Helped get support for the relief efforts, says Ed Carter. $200 million raised. Also important in the United Nations forming UNICEF. 1941 bc of war in Europe a Doc films category was created. Before created people got news through weekly newsreels. Civilians would see diff. scenes after they were recut after being shown to the soldiers. 2003: The year of the documentary Doc “My Flesh and Blood,” would spring Tom’s loving refusal to distinguish between her birth and adopted kids. “Fog of war” and “My flesh and blood” are real diff. The first is a talking-head enhanced with impressionistic imagery, the latter an emotional true-life journal in the bold tradition of PBS. 2 of this years releases (“Winged Migration” and “Spellbound”) topped the charts on highest grossing docs.
