f. What reagent(s) would you use to effect the following conversion? (2 points) g. Thermolysin cleaves peptides specifically at the amino end of leucine (Leu), isoleucine (Ile), and valine (Val). Chymotrypsin cleaves peptides specifically at the carboxy end of phenylalanine (Phe), tryptophane (Trp), and tyrosine (Tyr). A polypeptide containing 21 amino acids was hydrolyzed by thermolysin. The products were: Gly, Ile, Val-Cys-Ser, Leu-Tyr-Gln, Val-Glu-Gln-Cys-Cys-Ala-Ser, and Leu-Glu-Asn-Tyr-Cys-Asn. When the same polypeptide was hydrolyzed by chymotrypsin, the products were: Cys-Asn, Gln-Leu-Glu-Asn-Tyr, and Gly-Ile-Val- Glu-Gln-Cys-Cys-Ala-Ser-Val-Cys-Ser-Leu-Tyr. Determine the amino acid sequence of this molecule. (4 points) 2. Carbohydrates are major contributors to our daily diets in the form of sugars, fibers, and starches. a.
