Running head: PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY2explain how negative power and positive power applies to my philosophy. Lastly, I will discuss the results from the leadership survey and explain how they support my theory. Role of the Health Care Leader “A philosophy is a theory or attitude held by a person or organization that acts as a guiding principle for behavior” ("Philosophy," 2016). When dealing with employees from a leadership standpoint, I believe that each employee or team member should always implement the golden rule, which means to treat others the way you want to be treated. When creating my personal leadership philosophy, I asked myself three questions: What is it that I think or believe in when leading a team? Does my attitude affect my work when times are hard? If so, how was my behavior? My personal philosophy is to encourage all team members to do their absolute best and have a good laugh when necessary. I believe that healthcare leaders should be there when needed. They should be able to provided guidance and training to new and experienced employees. Leaders should help employees focus on theories like everything is possible even when things seem impossible. If leaders adopt this approach, they can help employees, and their selves achieve the unthinkable.
