Brett Dagel HCM641-1604A-01 Leadership and Ethical Decision-Making in Healthcare Instructor: Dr. Bridget Wilson Unit 2 DB Discuss the ethical role of a manager in a long-term care facility when faced with a family decision to withhold nutrition and fluids to a terminal and semi-comatose patient. If we are to examine this situation using the Hodgson’s ethical framework, they would tell us that there is a three stage process that we should go through in order to evaluate this type of situation (ebeni, 2011). The first stage that they discuss tells us we need to examine the situation (ebeni, 2011). While examining the situation, we need to figure out the most important facts, establish who the greatest stakeholder is, and then figure out what each of the stakeholders would like done (ebeni, 2011). The next stage that Hodgson talks about tells us we need to establish the dilemma (ebeni, 2011). They then divide this stage into four areas, and the first area
