Intermediate Macroeconomics Economics 230 CRN 21957 Pace University Spring 2016 Dr. Greg Colman Tuesday, Thursday 1:50pm – 3:15pm Room W623 Email: [email protected] The subject of this course is the determination of national income, unemployment, and inflation. The course will consist of four main parts. The first part will ignore short-run fluctuations in the economy and focus on the determinants of a country’s normal levels of national income, unemployment, inflation, exchange rates, and balance of trade. The second part will consider short-run fluctuations, with emphasis on the determination of unemployment and inflation. Exams There will be homework, two quizzes, one midterm, and a final. The quizzes will be worth 10% each, homework, 20% in total, the midterm, 25%, and the final, 30%. Attendance counts for 5% of the grade. Class starts promptly at 1:50 . If you come to class more than 5 minutes late you get no credit for attendance. Those who miss a quiz can take it later but will
