Web Exercise Spring 2008 PAM 230 One important skill you will need as a student, policy analyst, and citizen is an ability to identify information that is relevant to policy analysis and evaluate the quality of that information including the points of view embedded in the information. I assume that you have spent lots of time on the internet and have good search skills. However, it will still be useful to check out the following websites: 1. www.lib.berkeley.edu/Help/search.html This website gives you links to several search engines, including a couple that are a bit more specialized for the purposes of research. 2. http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/FindInfo.html This website provides a tutorial for searching that is invaluable. I know you already know a lot of what is here, but if you quickly click through this you might learn something that will be helpful in this and other courses you are taking. 3.
