Chem 3B Special Project Due: 04DEC07 12PM Special Project Do a literature search on one of the organic/chem bio faculty members and write a report on one of the published papers. The report should include the purpose or question the paper answers, a summary of their approach and a summary of their conclusions. You must also include a mechanistic analysis of two of the steps in the paper. The paper will be graded on clarity, difficulty of the mechanisms selected, accuracy of your mechanistic analysis and overall quality of the paper. Include a copy of the paper in your report. * Include a photocopy of the published paper. The written part of this project should be no longer than 3 pages (1.5 Space, this will include any figures or schemes, the mechanistic analysis pages will not count toward the 3 page limit). It should include the following sections. * Introduction Section stating the purpose or question the paper wants to answer. A summary of any background information (reactions/techniques/previous precedence) that would help clarify or frame your paper. * Discussion Section clearly summarizing their approach either toward synthesizing the target molecule or
