Philosophy 2.3 Reflection: Physicalism Physicalism is the theory that human beings can be explained completely and adequately in terms of their physical or material components When we talk about the mind, we are really talking about the brain and the physical processes it performs All elements of reality are 100% physical and can be explained by science There is no God Their arguments are based off of flaws within dualism and the amount of information science continues to uncover about the brain Dualistic interactionism claims that the mind and body are separate entities, but that there can be causal interaction between them how do nonphysical things affect physical events?
