Stevenson •A calculator Course Objectives Students will develop a fundamental understanding of how production and service systems are designed and managed. A solid understanding of the course material will enable the students to apply the concepts not only to real life business situations but also in their everyday lives. STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES & COURSE POLICIES 1.Website: Students can access most of the course material on , e.g., the syllabus, the course notes, quizzes, homework solutions, etc. Make sure to provide a valid e-mail address on “iLearn” – I will use it to send e-mail notices to the entire class. It is your responsibility to check your SFSU emails as well as information posted on iLearn.2.E-mail correspondence:If you would like to receive a response to your e-mail, always include your name and your section number. Observe grammatical rules while composing your e-mails. 3.Class Attendance & Participation: Although attendance will not be taken, students are clearly responsible for all the materials covered in class as well as the announcements made in class. If you choose to attend the class, you are expected to be respectful and should be prepared to participate actively. If you don’t show up for the first lecture of the Spring 2016 semester, you will be automatically dropped, allowing those unregistered students who attended the first lecture to be added. 4.Readings: There will be weekly readings from the textbook. Some material discussed in class will not be in the text; likewise some material in the readings will not be discussed in class.
