Introduction Managing a diverse group of people, is more than managing those of a different race. Lawrence & Weber (2017), defines diversity as the variation in the important human characteristics that distinguish people from one another. Age, gender, ethnicity, physical disability, and sexual orientation are all things that makes people diverse (Lawrence & Weber, 2017). However, it can be difficult to understand and manage such a diverse group of people when leadership themselves do not fully understand diversity. Therefore, it is important that organizations implement diversity inclusion training. Training is necessary because dealing with and trying to understand everyone’s differences can be challenging. Once diversity is understood by leadership and the organization, there are benefits that can be reaped because they will be known as an organization that understands and celebrate diversity.
