Emily Tallarigo Emily Everhart AH: 110 23 February 2017 A Visual Analysis of Deep Space Deep Space is an installation piece at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, OH. It was installed at the CAC in late 2016. The creators of this piece are Amy Lynch, Joel Masters, and J.D. Loughead, who collaboratively formed a design group called Lucius LTD. The three artists challenge design and find ways to make the art of design new and exciting for people of all ages. The first half of Deep Space includes a hanging dome-like structure with cushions underneath it. The dome itself is around 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall. People are encouraged to sit under the dome and relax, chat, etc. The dome is made up of holographic panels, and the dome’s shape is geometric; each panel is triangular and is separated by black panes. Although the panels are warm hues of pink, orange and yellow, one can see right through them. The second half of the installation is a hallway with mirrors on both sides.
