Topic 1: “Diversity in Healthcare: Driven by Leadership According to the document titled “Diversity in Healthcare: Driven by Leadership”, diversity is an organizational leadership issue. Diversity applies to everyone in healthcare, but mainly applies to the management of healthcare. I say this because like Steven Grant says in this article, diversity in organizations is driven by flexible leaders who value change. In healthcare leaders like that are very valuable because they like to understand and know about all diversities and make sure they rule with fair and right judgements. There are several consequences that can occur with a patient when medical staff cannot communicate with those from different cultures. The first one is the lack of communication, which in most situations create medical errors. For example, if the patient only speaks Spanish and the physician only speaks English, neither the patient nor the physician understand what the other is saying; therefore, the physician does not know what the true problem is and the patient does not know what the doctor is saying let alone what the physician orders are. The second problem could be a translator not translating properly for you as they should. They could be telling the patient something other than what the doctor is really saying due to it being against what the translator believes.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
