At the beginning of the seminar, we reviewed what we learned in unit one. There we learned that Information Technology (IT), is changing the way doctors practice medicine just like it has changed the way us Americans buy our airline tickets, pay our bills and listen to music. We also learned in unit one that an EHR has everything a paper chart has and more, such as, X- rays, scans, and labs that can be transferred into the system from providers or hospitals. In unit two we learned that the medical record is a legal document and that the provider owns the record, but the patient owns the information inside of it. We also learned that the ePHI (electronic protected health information) is created, received, maintained or transmitted in electric form. We also learned that there are three parts to HIPPA’s Administrative Simplification provisions. The first one is the HIPPA Privacy Rule which requirements cover patient’s health

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
