As the human resource manager of this large distribution site one would feel very proud about the results that come from the employee opinion survey that shown that employees felt this workplace was a good place to work at. Sadly, due to the downturns in the economy and loss of many large contracts, these employees will not be able to receive Cost-of-Living-Adjustments, mostly known as COLA, “Another pay-raise practice is use of a cost-of-living-adjustment, whereby every employee’s pay is increased to compensate for inflation and rising prices. Often, these adjustments are tied to changes in the Consumer Price Index or some other general economic measure,” (Mathis, Jackson, & Valentine, 2014).
