ENGINEERING EDUCATION ABET a ccreditation (ABET - a federation of 28 professional engineering and technical societies -- non-governmental.) Programs volunteer to undergo the review. Accreditation is granted or denied; programs are not ranked. Accreditation is granted for a maximum of six years. Virginia Tech will be visited Fall 2008 for ABET assessment.
