1 Prof. Huanxing Yang e-mail: [email protected] Office Hours: Thursday 1:30pm-3:30pm, 405 Arps Hall Phone: 614-292-6523 Economics 501.02: Intermediate Microeconomic Theory Winter 2008 This is an intermediate level microeconomics course. This course has essentially two goals. The first is to provide you with the basic tools necessary to tackle economic problems in a systematic way, and the second is to develop basic economic intuitions that can help you understand economic puzzles or policy problems. These two goals are inherently linked: the first provides a general framework to think about the world around us and the second develops intuitions from that framework. Those of you who intend to pursue further studies in economics will require the tools developed in this class for later course work, while those of you with only a casual interest in economics will, I hope, be able to use the intuitions from this course to make more sense of the world around you.
