All on a list called EPA Everything we know about these chemicals are on separate sheets. We find more every year, How do we control it? We put standards on quantities, you cannot reduce more than the limit. If they pollute more than 10 tons per year for each of these pollutants. Total you cannot put out more than 25tons per year. We discover new pollutants because we use new processes all the time. Every day we produce something new. We need to be ahead of the problem not behind. TRI toxic release inventory. 650 pollutants appear on this list. Rated from dangerous to very dangerous. 3 major problems (modern): 1) Acid rain: appeared in the 1960s. in Sweden, in some lakes. The ph of the lakes was wrong. Usually, 7, now 5. Where did this problem start? 10 years later, they found the solution. The source was from Poland, England and Germany. The air
