Part I: So for this part of the assignment I pick Jackson Jackson, who is the main character in the short story “What You Pawn I Will Redeem” by Sherman Alexie. Jackson Jackson is a homeless middle age Indian living on the streets of Seattle, Washington. If I was to describe Jackson in one word, it would have to be “Friendship”. Throughout this short story there are several intense where Jackson pays for things for complete strangers, an example would be when he buys rounds for the entire bar. “Five drinks for everybody!(Alexie 285). Jackson does not have much will power to overcome his demons with alcohol, but he also does not have an evil bone in his body. Even the local cop sees the good in Jackson, by giving him his last thirty dollars, stating “I’m giving it to you because I believe in what you believe. I’m hoping, and I don’t know why I’m hoping it, but I hope you can turn thirty bucks into a thousand
