Study Guide for Final Exam, Anth 008, Fall Semester 2007 The exam is scheduled for Friday May 11 at 2:30-4:20 in 101 Thomas Bldg. It is based on course lectures (including material put on the web page), the assigned readings in the textbooks, and also on information provided in powerpoint shows or films. Any information presented in lecture or the readings since the second mid-term exam might appear on the final exam, and in some cases remembering content from the first two segments of the course might be useful. Some questions, for example, might ask for comparisons among the several cultures we have studied, or require you to remember basic concepts that were introduced before the second exam. The final exam will be a combination of multiple choice, fill in the blank and short essay just like the mid-terms. Because there is more available time the exam might be somewhat longer than the mid-terms, and will be worth more points because (as noted in the syllabus) it comprises 40% of your grade (120 points). Remember that, as always, information presented in lecture and on the web page takes precedence over all other sources, if there are any differences. If I do not get to a subject or question listed on this study guide in lectures or web pages, I will not include it on the exam. Key terms and concepts below represent much of what is likely to be on the final exam, but this guide is not intended to be totally inclusive of the material in lectures or readings. Its function is to help remind you of many of the concepts we covered in class, but not a point by point review of everything. If you have any questions, see Prof. Webster, or Craig Goralski ( [email protected] ; office 423 Carpenter), or Chris Percival ( [email protected] ; office 421 Carpenter). Web site =
