What is the Stefan-Boltzman constant in units of Watts m 2 K 4 ? All of the required unit conversions in the lecture notes. Problem #2 (15 points) A quantity called Brake Mean Effective Pressure (BMEP) is often used to quantify the performance of internal combustion engines. Its definition is BMEP = 2 P V " where P is the engine power, V the displacement volume (units length 3 ) and Ω is the rotation rate (units 1/time). (a) Show that BMEP does in fact have units of pressure (force/area) (b) If P = 200 horsepower, V = 350 in 3 and Ω = 3600/min, what is BMEP in units of atmospheres? Problem #3 (25 points)
