It was founded on 1939, in California by two men namely; William “Bill” Redington Hewlett and DavePackard. To settle where it is right now, HP’s first product was an audio oscillator. The company develops software’s, hardware, and related services to customers’ large enterprises and SMB’s, and also vendors in health, government, and educational sectors. It registers employees of roughly over 350,000.The first PC laid down by HP was in 1980, and was called HP-85, which was later debuted by HP-75C in 1982, later on in 1983, the devised touch screen PC was invented. This was a major technological turn. After several years, HP released the Omni book 300 which was asupportable PC with an extended battery duration.From 2007 to 2013, HP was the leading PC manufactures after which Lenovo dashed in and took away the pride of HP. It majored in delivering services, manufacturing of data storage, network related hardware, and software designing. Nevertheless, HP not only had consulting andservice business around its partner products but also marketed their products to medium and large sized based businesses, as well as via online disbursement of office supply retailers and consumer electronics, (Council, N. HP won its bidding war against DELL which declined to meet the offer set by 3PAR for a share of $33 ($2.07 billion), (Council, N. R. 2000).Among other technology companies, HP faces stiff competition from one of the leading companies Apple Inc. which for a long duration of time has held the top as one of the leading companies with their gadgets holding the best regarding security purposes and device tracking. The company beats off HP regarding its revenue as they hit on $182 billion in income and profit returns of $40 billion, as compared to the latter which has a $111 billion in revenue. A rather competent company HP faces stiff competition from is IBM which has shifted most of their businesses to the cloud. And plans on coming years to do more pushing into mobile, cloud and Watson. But all in all, as much as stiff competition arises with each day new inventions coming through the company must work in its realization of its vision which it has set, (Council, N. R. 2000).
