1. Based on the information you have to date, what do you think their key priorities should be? The main problems involved in the recruitment of managers for the new hotels include, in order: their inability to communicate in French frequently as well as their inexperience with the society, culture, and business environment of France, the requirement for managers to be flexible, and the limited amount of time given. The management of Brunt Hotels PLC has realized that the recruitment advertisement lacks details about the compensation package for hotel managers. According to the information the management gathered from the internet, the average salary for managers in the UK is £30,000 (€45,000) plus bonuses, while managers in France are given €60,000 without bonuses. Since the applicants Parent Country Nationals (PCNs), they should be provided a compensation package that is appropriate for the position. The company wants these existing managers to be enticed into working in a foreign country with different customs, languages, and business practices. In addition to the base pay, benefits and bonuses are needed in order for the existing mangers of the company to be attracted to the management’s offer.
