Managed Care 2 In this paper I will be providing a thorough analysis of managed care. I will be discussion how it a delivery method and how it has facilities the transfer of health services to outpatient and other nontraditional settings of care. I will be discussing the impact managed care has on access, financing and delivery of health care in the United States. I also will be discussing managed care’s role in promoting health. Managed care plans are a type of health insurance. They have contracts with health care providers and medical facilities to provide care for members at reduced costs. These providers make up the plan's network. There are 3 different types of Managed care plans. They are 1. Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) usually only pay for care within the network. You choose a primary care doctor who coordinates most of your care. 2. Preferred Provider
