IMMIGRANTS 2 The United States of America is one of the states in the world that has experienced a large number of immigration since the 19th century. The Immigration occurred as a number of people needed economic and religious freedom. Additionally slave trade added to the number of people moving into the state during this period. There were a number of events that influenced and initiated the immigration to the United States. This paper seeks to look at the causes of immigration in America in two-time periods citing events that occurred during that time. It will first look at the period before 1945 and after then the period after 1945. Additionally, the impacts of the immigration on the state, the citizens and the immigrants themselves will be looked at. World War II can be regarded as an event that led to massive immigration in the United States. There was especially, an increase of black immigrants from Africa who came in search of economic redemption. During this particular period in history, “there was increased industrialization in America due to its position as a superpower after the war. This was, as a result, a lot of industries which blossomed so as to cater for the growing economy. Furthermore, the war had resulted in a number of casualties, especially in the army. There was, therefore, a need to replenish the soldiers. The black immigrants were perfectly suited for this and were
