Kelsey Jans Political Science Prof. Korey 3/5/07 Balancing The Budget The California Budget Project is known to engage in improving public policies that affect the economic and social well-being of low- and middle- income Californians. They believe that “knowledge is power” The CBP wants to make the budget more understandable to the public and by understanding how budget and related policy decisions can affect the lives of low- and middle-income Californians, we can create a better future. The main belief that the CBP holds is that the government should work to improve the lives of people it serves. By taking the “Next Ten” test, we are able to envision how the California Budget Project tries to help the lives of each individual. The California Budget Project cares the most about education overall as well as groups such as the Taxpayers association although the CBP is still trying to save money in other areas while raising the adopted budget for educational purposes.
