The midterm will have 20 multiple choice questions (100 points total) and 4
show work problems (100 points total). As examples of the kind of show
work problems that
might
be on the final I have picked problems from your
book from Chapters 7, 8, 9, and 10.
Chapter 7: 13, 57
Chapter 8: 17, 31
Chapter 9: 15, 45
Chapter 10: 25, 47, 63
Try doing one problem from each chapter as well as the 20 multiple choice
questions given below in 1 hour and 48 minutes to simulate the final exam.
The answers to the problems are in the back of your book, the answers to the
multiple choice questions are on the last page of this note.
You will need a calculator for the exam but clear its memory of all formulas.
I expect you to know trig functions (sin, cos, etc) and to know the derivative
(d/dx) of certain simple functions, e.g. x

, sin(x) as well as knowing how to
calculate the magnitude and direction of a vector.….
The exam is closed book and closed notes but an equation sheet will be
provided. It will look something like:
1 meter (m) = 3.281 feet
1 mile = 5280 feet
1 hour =3600 seconds
