Wayne Shockley 1st Period Johnston February 2015 “Knowledge is power,” was once said by Francis Bacon, an English Philosopher. This statement is true because without knowledge you are at a disadvantage. Therefore obtaining knowledge has a positive aspect on people’s lives. In today’s world we push our children into being the best they can. We mandate that they go to school until sixteen or until they obtain their GED. The years that we go to school don’t only prepare us for our furtherment in education but also life. Books do not teach everything but experiences that children have in school is knowledge and this helps them with their future.
