Unformatted text preview: Hemp Nutrition, Food, and Products Hemp Nutrition, Food, and Products The seeds of Hemp are sometimes cultivated for food and can be considered nutritious (because they contain a great amount of essential fatty oils as well as protein) therefore many companies are starting to take action and create Hemp products. Most people see Hemp seeds comparable as sunflower seeds or sesame seeds. Hemp seeds are known to be used for baking since the Hemp seeds have many oils. Before a company can use Hemp seeds, the seeds have to be sterilized as stated by federal law. Most populations have been known to grow hemp and eat it as `Gruel' which compares to oatmeal. Hemp seeds do not contain any marijuana, therefore you will not get `high'. Hemp Nutrition, Foods, and Products continued... Hemp is known to have a high quality amino acid which can be considered to closer to the amino acids of meat, milk and eggs. Hemp was once called ` Edestine' at one time when it was used by scientists as the model for vegetable protein. Hemp is known to reduce the risk of heart disease since hemp seed oil provides the human body with essential fatty acids. Hemp contains these oils as well as almost no saturated fat. About one handful of hemp seeds per day will supply adequate protein and essential fatty oils for an adult.
