Section 8.3 derives the energy equation for flow in a pipe of general cross section; we’ll derived this in class, a little differently but basically the same equation. Sections 8.48.8 cover the appropriate correlations for different boundary conditions and geometries for internal flows. Chapter 9. Sections 9.19.5 give an overview of the mathematics; we will cover sections 9.1, 9.2, and most of 9.3 in class. Sections 9.4 and 9.5 will be discussed conceptually.
