MEMOTo: Dylan SmithFrom: Cindy NguyenSection: 907Date: 09/12/16Re: Lab 2 Fundamentals Part 2Purpose: The primary objective of this lab is to further your understanding of concepts such as Mechanical Advantage and Efficiency along with different types of levers and block mechanisms. Procedure: Given different images of pulleys systems with different amounts of pulleys, students determined the tension weight, Mechanical Advantage and efficiency of each of the different systems. Images of lever arrangements were shown and students computed the forces and mechanical advantages required to lift the same weight with different arrangements. Results:The results for the labs are enclosed in the attached forms. Conclusions/Recommendations: The mechanical advantages of pulleys are only relevant if there are at least two or more pulleys in a vertical system. Having only one pulley changes the direction of force, not the amount. Torque is a key part of levers as it determines how much force is necessary to lift an
